Okay, I mean it but I don't. I hope everyone is having a happy Monday but Mondays are my least favorite day of the week because all I am thinking about all day is the fact that I have five days to work until I get through Friday. So although Mondays are good days, for obvious reasons - (I'm alive and "talking" to you), for me they're also dreadful.
Just an example of Monday Madness for me - I am a makeup wearer; love the stuff. Been using it since I was 14. Of course back then I had to leave the house to put it on, but still. Well...this morning I was running behind so I grabbed my makeup bag and ran out of the door.
While approaching a red traffic light, I thought that this would be a good time to get a head start on putting on a little makeup. Because I was running late, I knew I couldn't get a whole face of makeup in before making it to my job, but I could at least start by and putting on my pink lip gloss. That couldn't be so difficult to do in the car, right? Yeah, right!!!
I reached into my purse. I didn't need to look; I know the shape and feel of the tube. Once located, I opened it without looking, removed the wand and used the tip of the wand to add a few dots across my bottom lip. I thought to myself that the tube was getting dry and hoped that I had at least one more tube left in my stash because this is my F-A-V-O-R-I-T-E pink gloss. Anyhoo, I rubbed my lips together to get even coverage on them. I was staring intently at the traffic light to make sure it didn't turn green without me knowing thus having the cars behind me upset because I was sitting still at a green light. HOWEVER - I had to replace the wand into the tube, which required me to look down for a moment.
I looked down and what to my wondering and disbelieving eyes did appear? My mascara! Right between my fingers. MASCARA??? I shook my head and looked again because there was no way I was seeing what I thought I saw. Where in the heck did THAT come from. WHO replaced my lip gloss with mascara? I looked around as if to actually catch the culprit that played this dirty trick on me. It's amazing how many things can cross your mind in a split second. I finally had the presence of mind to see if the person that played the trick on me did it before or after I applied my gloss. I slapped my mirror down, fully expecting to see pink lips but much to my shock, horror and dismay, they were black. That's right. B-L-A-C-K. Black lips. And while I know this is the style for some, it is sooooooo not for me! So for the next three traffic lights I was scrubbing my lips with all of the old receipts I could find in the bottom of my purse because old receipts is what I had at the moment and there was NO WAY I was walking into work and taking a chance of running into someone with black lips.
So, yeah...for me, Mondays are both beautiful and dreadful. I'd rather stay home and craft all day where it is safe and I don't run the fateful chance of walking around with black lips. Monday! Hmph!
Anyway, Saturday was my monthly day crop/class day. I wanted to post the projects from Saturday earlier but I am just getting around to it tonight. Better late than never, right? I had planned on bringing yarn to crochet some booties for Christmas gifts but because of the Big Game (Michigan vs. Michigan State), it was strictly business. In and out. Which is okay with me. At least I got to see a friend that I hadn't seen in a couple of months. I swapped out the scrapbook layout I had initially planned for an easier choice due to the game as well. People wanted to be home and I did too, truth be told.
I got the inspiration for the cards from Pinterest (who doesn't these days) but I cannot honestly say exactly where. I see so much inspiration that most things are a blur for me. Whenever, wherever, whoever...thank you for the inspiration. Pinterest is a life saver for me lately because I've been too busy to be inspired, but anyhoo... here they are. Hope you enjoy!
