Happy Birthday Wishes

Happy Birthday Wishes

My new favorite stamp set is from the Stampin' Up! 2017 Sale-a-Bration brochure - Avant Garden. I love it and I love flowers so this for me was an easy sell.  I also love that this stamp set is not too "busy". It's easy and elegant. I kept the design of this card simple - as these days I adore simple and clean designs.  I used the Crumb Cake ink on Whisper White cardstock and the "dots" from Avant Garden. I stamped off once to get a lighter color. I stamped the flowers with Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo. Finally, I used Pear Pizzazz for the stems/leaves and Chocolate Chip for the stamen. The card base is Whisper White and the stamped portion of the card is mounted on Pumpkin Pie cardstock. Sweet and Simple, right?!?

I chose the greeting from the Avant Garden Stamp Set as well and used Chocolate Chip ink  to stamp the greeting. My upline in Stampin' Up has started a new Birthday Card campaign with the intention of sending birthday cards to all of the demonstrators beneath her.  After I pondered it, I deemed it relatively brilliant. No matter what other occasions occur, birthdays are an occasion that mostly everyone celebrates so you can't go wrong there. I have decided that I am going to include more birthday card designs for my classes in 2017.

I hope you find this simple card inspirational. The Avant Garden stamp set can be found in the 2017 Sale-a-Bration brochure (view brochure here) and is available for FREE with required minimum purchase (shop here) through March 31, 2017.

WHAT'S YOUR STYLE? MY JUNKIE JOURNEY!

Soooo...What exactly is your Scrapbook style?  Do you tend to stick to any particular style?  Do you find that you tend to stick to a certain type of page layout or embellishment?  Like chipboard?  Stamps?  Stickers?  Are you a digital scrapbooker or a traditional scrapbooker?  What size books do you tend to use?

As for me and my style, I love chunky and lots of stuff.  I embellish the hell out of everything!  Overstated, large and grandeur is me all of the way; which means that I also love bling!  Stickles, rhinestones, doesn't matter...I just am a sucker for shiny things!

A huge section of my stash looks just like this organized in a rainbow fashion (ROYGBIV)

As for my layouts, I am a traditional scrapbooker.  I am very tactile and I need to have something physical to touch.  I like dimension and texture.  I am intrigued with some of the digital things that can be done (like adding text to photos), but I have to have be able to touch the paper.

I am also a 12 x 12 layout scrapbooker. The main reason for the 12x12 is that I need the larger space to have room for my photos AND embellies.  I use full and pocket style/Project Life page protectors.  I discovered Project Life about 2 years ago but just very recently started actually doing it though I have been using pocket page protectors and cards over the past couple of years.  Because of Project Life, I have discovered that I am finding that pops of color (for me) speak more loudly than lots of stuff.  (Oh dear, I am the queen of stuff and have LOTS of it to use in the next 50 years.)

Honey, this ain't even the half of it!

Though I am a Stampin' Up demonstrator and use lots of Stampin' Up products, I use lots of different supplies and I have lot of different brands in my stash.  Just like many others probably do, I tend to purchase whatever taps into my OOOOHHHHHH factor (or when I get sucked in, whatever the hottest new trend has been); so I have literally spent YEARS collecting (and hoarding, I'm afraid) scrapbook supplies.

Once again, this is just a little bit of it.

Anyhoo, my ownership of the over abundance of endless supplies is (in part) the catalyst for my eclectic use of scrapbook supplies on my pages.  I like what I like and I don't want to be locked into a box with any one particular supplier/vendor/style, so the things that you will see here are an eclectic collection of things that I have purchased and are in my stash.  I am finding that a part of my niche is scrapbooking my stash because like I said, I have A L-O-T  O-F  S-T-A-S-H!  Therefore some things, (okay, a lot of things) you see on my blog may not be listed in regards to the supplies that I use, but whenever it is possible/feasible,  I will certainly share.  So, follow me on the trail of my junkie journey!  Here are a couple of pocket pages from last falls trip to the pumpkin patch.

I love the WRMK "Albums Made Easy" cards and used the ones from the "Tangerine" collection.

There are some Project Life cards here, though not sure which kit.
The flourish is from K&Co.

Again, several cards from the We R Memory Keepers - Albums Made Easy "Tangerine" kit.  The punched shapes & stamp are from Stampin' Up - (the word "fun").

Here are some close ups of the details on some of the cards.  I like using Stampin' Up punches because they are perfect for little pops of color (the circles and squares).

Thanks for looking!
